Gorham Country Club Women’s Clinics - 2021


Women's clinics at Gorham Country Club are fun, informative and a great way to get introduced to the game or refresh your fundamentals. Our Head Professional, Matt Madrid truly enjoys teaching beginners and will help you transition your game to the golf course. Attending the clinic will prepare your game for our popular women's twilight league. Registration is through the Gorham Recreation Department (207) 222-1630. The clinics will cover putting, chipping, full swing with irons and woods, rules, etiquette and some on course playing and management. All clinics will take place at Gorham Country Club.

COST - $130 per person / participants must provide their own golf clubs. Rentals are available.

(Little to no experience)

BEGINNER SESSION - May 5 6 7 - 5pm-6pm  May 8 9 - 2pm-3pm  Rain Day 10th - 5pm-6pm

     *Ladies will be given a teaching technique I created in 2002. The acronym G.A.S.P.

GRIP ALIGNMENT STANCE POSTURE - This technique will relate to Putting, Chipping and Driving Range Practice. Ladies will play up to 3 holes on the final day.

INTERMEDIATE/ ADVANCED SESSION - May 12 13 14 - 5pm-6pm May 15 16 2pm-3pm Rain Day 17th - 5pm-6pm

      *Ladies will be given specific Instruction on Gaining Distance, Wedge Control, Precise Putting, Course Management and Shaving Strokes. Ladies will play 3 holes on the final day with the option of playing 9 holes at a discounted rate.

Equipment: You may bring your own clubs or use the clubs provided by GCC. Please email Matt at mattmadridgolfgcc@gmail.com if you will need clubs.

Attire: Students may wear shorts, jeans, blouses and T-shirts. We recommend that you dress for the weather and wear loose comfortable clothing. Footwear: sneakers or golf shoes. Be sure to dress warm or dry as needed.
